One of the most popular ways to decorate a wedding is with fresh
flowers. Today there is a huge choice of flowers for you. The
experience and creativity of a good florist can be a big help..
Your
florist will be able to answer queries like what flowers are
available when you get married. I've met many florists that are
delighted to 'talk flowers' with brides. In my experience many
practice their trade because of love rather than the money it brings.
The first stage is to arrange a meeting with your florist. Respect
her time. Book a time in advance and this will ensure that neither
you nor they are rushed. Planning your flowers is fun so don't rush
the process. Meeting at your venue is a good idea. You can view
things together and plan the best decorations and where to put them.
Before you visit your florist, get some ideas of the type of flowers
that you want for your day. Go with an idea of the type of flowers
that you like such as peonies, tulips or just ??~summer blooms’. Do
you prefer traditional or contemporary arrangement styles and how
will this fit in with the other wedding decorations and the venue?
Do you have a wedding color scheme? There are plenty of ideas for
you online and in bridal magazines.
Here are some questions to ask your florist to understand their
business. These can be basic things such as: How long has he/she
been in business as a florist? Are there photos of previous work
that you can view? Can you speak to previous customers? Are they
familiar with your venue?
By following these tips you will have a productive meeting with your
florist and she will have sufficient information to refine your
ideas and provide a quote.
